Why Choose Albino Tiger Barb?

The Albino Tiger Barb is an excellent choice for aquarists looking to add a unique, lively, and visually appealing fish to their aquarium. Its striking albino colouration, combined with the playful and active nature of Tiger Barbs, makes it a standout in any tank. These fish are known for their strong schooling behaviour, which not only enhances their sense of security but also creates a dynamic and engaging display. When kept in larger groups, Albino Tiger Barbs are less likely to exhibit fin-nipping behaviour, making them compatible with a wider range of tank mates. Their hardy nature and adaptability make them an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.

Care Tips:

  • Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature of 74°F - 79°F (23°C - 26°C), pH between 6.0 - 7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. Regular water changes and good filtration are essential to keep your Albino Tiger Barbs healthy and vibrant.
  • Feeding: Albino Tiger Barbs are omnivorous and should be provided with a balanced diet that includes high-quality flakes or pellets, supplemented with live or frozen foods like brine shrimp, bloodworms, and daphnia. A varied diet will help maintain their bright colouration and overall health.
  • Tank Setup: Provide a tank with plenty of open swimming space, as well as areas with plant cover and decorations where the fish can explore and hide. A tank of at least 20 gallons (75 Litres) is recommended to accommodate a school of Albino Tiger Barbs. They are active swimmers and enjoy a moderate water flow that mimics their natural riverine habitat.
  • Behaviour: Albino Tiger Barbs are best kept in groups of six or more to minimise aggressive behaviour, such as fin-nipping. In a group, they exhibit a playful and interactive nature, often chasing each other and swimming in tight formations. They are compatible with similarly sized, robust fish that can handle their energetic behaviour.

Perfect for Active Community Tanks:

Albino Tiger Barbs are an excellent choice for aquarists looking to add a playful, active, and visually stunning fish to their community tank. Their unique appearance and lively schooling behaviour make them a captivating and rewarding addition to any well-maintained aquarium.
