Care Tips:

  • Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature of 75°F - 78°F (24°C - 26°C), pH between 8.1 - 8.4, and salinity levels of 1.023 - 1.025. Regular water changes and efficient filtration are crucial for this sensitive species.
  • Feeding: Blue Spot Jawfish are carnivorous and require a diet rich in protein. Offer high-quality marine pellets, frozen foods like mysis shrimp and brine shrimp, and live treats to keep them healthy and active. Feed 1-2 times daily in small portions.
  • Tank Setup: Provide a tank of at least 30 gallons with a deep sandy substrate (2-4 inches) and plenty of rubble or small rocks for burrow construction. Ensure the tank is securely covered, as jawfish are known to jump.
  • Behaviour: Blue Spot Jawfish are peaceful and thrive in community tanks with similarly calm species. Their burrowing behaviour is a natural part of their lifestyle, and they often spend time near their burrows, interacting with their surroundings.
