Why Choose the Coral Beauty Angelfish (Centropyge bispinosa)?

The Coral Beauty Angelfish is an excellent choice for aquarists seeking a hardy, colourful, and manageable species for their marine aquarium. Its vivid blue and orange hues create a striking focal point, while its adaptability and resilience make it suitable for both beginner and experienced hobbyists. Though generally reef-safe, it may occasionally nip at coral polyps or clams, so caution is advised in sensitive reef setups. Its active and curious nature makes the Coral Beauty a joy to watch as it explores and interacts with its environment.

Care Tips:

  • Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature of 75°F - 80°F (24°C - 27°C), pH between 8.1 - 8.4, and salinity levels of 1.023 - 1.025. Regular water changes and efficient filtration are essential for keeping this species healthy.
  • Feeding: Coral Beauty Angelfish thrive on a varied omnivorous diet. Provide high-quality marine pellets or flakes, supplemented with algae-based foods like spirulina and nori. Live or frozen treats such as brine shrimp and mysis shrimp should also be included. Feed 2-3 times daily in small portions.
  • Tank Setup: Provide a tank of at least 55 gallons with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding. Coral Beauty Angelfish are active swimmers and appreciate a well-structured environment with caves and crevices to explore.
  • Behaviour: Coral Beauty Angelfish are generally peaceful but may display mild territorial behaviour, especially in smaller tanks or toward other angelfish. They coexist well with other non-aggressive fish and are suitable for community setups.

Perfect for Reef and Community Tanks:

The Coral Beauty Angelfish is a versatile and vibrant addition to reef and community tanks, offering both aesthetic appeal and a manageable temperament. Its hardy nature and adaptability make it a rewarding choice for marine aquariums.
