Care Tips:
- Water Parameters: Maintain stable water conditions with a temperature of 77°F - 82°F (25°C - 28°C), pH between 6.5 - 7.5, and soft to moderately hard water. Regular water changes and good filtration are essential to keep your Leopard Frog Pleco healthy and thriving.
- Feeding: L134 Leopard Frog Plecos are omnivorous and should be provided with a balanced diet that includes high-quality sinking pellets or algae wafers, supplemented with live or frozen foods like bloodworms, brine shrimp, and occasional fresh vegetables such as zucchini or cucumber. A varied diet will help maintain their health and vibrant colouration.
- Tank Setup: Provide a tank with plenty of hiding spots, such as driftwood, caves, and rocks, to create a natural environment that mimics their native habitat. A tank of at least 30 gallons (115 Litres) is recommended to accommodate an adult Leopard Frog Pleco. These plecos appreciate moderate water flow, which helps simulate the fast-moving waters of their natural environment.
- Behaviour: Leopard Frog Plecos are peaceful and do well in community tanks with other non-aggressive fish. They are generally shy and prefer to stay hidden during the day, becoming more active at night. It’s important to provide plenty of hiding places to help them feel secure.
Perfect for Community and Specialty Tanks:
L134 Leopard Frog Plecos are an excellent choice for aquarists looking to add a rare and visually striking pleco to their community or specialty tank. Their unique appearance and peaceful nature make them a captivating and rewarding addition to any well-maintained aquarium.
