Why Choose the Orange Spot Filefish (Oxymonacanthus longirostris)?

The Orange Spot Filefish is a captivating choice for aquarists looking to add a rare and exotic species to their reef aquarium. Its vibrant colours and intriguing behaviour make it a focal point, while its peaceful temperament ensures compatibility with other calm tank mates. Feed multiple small meals daily.
  • Tank Setup: Provide a tank of at least 50 gallons with live coral and rockwork for grazing and shelter. Ensure a peaceful environment with non-aggressive tank mates to minimise stress.
  • Behaviour: This species is peaceful and thrives in calm community tanks. It spends much of its time gracefully swimming or grazing on coral, adding an elegant dynamic to the aquarium.
